Wanted an LJ for my ADF Dedicant's Journal.
I joined ADF to try to get some motivation in my spiritual life. I'm a horrible procrastinator (unless it's something I want, then I can't wait!). I was raised Lutheran, and got a little interested in wicca during highschool, but couldn't do anything with it because of my stepmom. Once I joined the Army and moved out I realized I was free to do what I wanted and started studying wicca on my own. My first (and only) Permanent Duty Station was Ft. Huachuca, AZ. Before I moved down there I came across a MSN pagan group for pagans in Cochise County. The lady running the group was very nice. The first year I had mostly lurked and went to one group get-together, a picnic in one of the near-by canyons. I eventually started joining in more and got to know some of the members who showed up the most. Three of them are Druid and in ADF and two others are wiccan. It was great fun having a group to do stuff with. We had a weekly coffee-night and did things like group trips. We would get together and have ritual for the Eight Holidays at someone's house. We went to Tucson's TAWN Pagan Fall Fest, and went hunting for quartz crystals once. I try to keep in contact with at least my Druid friends, since I moved back to Michigan when I was released from Active Duty. I'm currently in the Army Reserve. It's kinda lonely being so far from my friends. All my highschool friends seem to have moved away or dissappeared. And its a three hour drive to Ann Arbor/Detroit or I'd go to Shining Lakes Grove's events.
